Today’s Training: Omeka (revisited)

In this training, I revisited the Omeka Training from the beginning of the semester to create a 19th/20th Century Danish Art Gallery from the National Gallery of Art’s open image access gallery. The Omeka galley can be found here.
In this training, I named to create a digital gallery of 19th and 20th century Danish art on the National Gallery of Art’s open access art gallery.
I initially found it difficult to recall the steps to distinguish between similar-sounding concepts of Omeka, including gallery and exhibition. It was clear that, despite the last training being done two months ago, that I needed a refresher by revisiting original the training guide. While this was initially worrying and frustrating, I started to think it of it as a natural part of gaining various digital skills and needing to refresh knowledge on certain skills from time to time.
While there were limited metadata on some of the items, revisiting the methods and structure of Omeka was helpful as I try to achieve a similar for my own Vivero project. The methods may differ between Omeka and Omeka-S (which I will use for the project), I will take the lesson from today to keep refreshing and reviewing the skills from both Omeka and Omeka-S.
